Banko-yaki is famous for being very heat-resistance and light weight. Moreover, the Kuwana region makes approximately 80% of the market share of clay stew pots in Japan, in addition to a wide variety of practical ceramic products for home and professional use. Also, Banko-yaki is famous for its pink color, using Shoenjiyu (glaze).
Mori Ichizo (1945- ) was born in Kuwana, is still living and making his Banko-yaki.
